This realm… this void that I find myself in quite often...

It is a very strange place. Time does not flow here, allowing me to meditate for hours, days or even weeks without a single moment passing. I created this space to get some peace… originally I only came here once or twice a month, however over these last few weeks I have found myself coming here quite often….

The gentle hum of the orbs around me combined with the chimes and gentle ticking from the dimension create a peaceful melody that could quell the anger of even the most powerful beast. It is here I find myself once again, delving deep to not find my balance, but to find answers. Something is wrong, or about to go wrong and I want to know what so I can prepare…

But no matter how hard I try, no matter how close I get to the answer it always evades me… I can feel that something big is going to shift yet I cannot grasp what it is. Is it the war? Is the pit demon finally going to break and destroy her cousin? No… the hourglass has not shown a shift in power and is still in perfect harmony. The light side always shows a sign to me before anything happens… unlike the dark they do try to keep me in the loop… I am half of one of their beings after all.

I do not like not knowing what is going to happen… but no matter how much I concentrate I just cannot find an answer… for all I know nothing will happen at all and I am just overthinking things…

… wait a moment, something is wrong… the balance of power has shifted…

The black jet stirred from his meditative trance, the orbs gently twirling around him giving off a gentle glow on his metal frame as his visor flickered to life, wings twitching as the sensors slowly booted back up. His helm slowly rose, arm coming up in front of him as he held out his hand, fingers giving off a similar hue of red as one of the orbs slowed to a stop, resting in his palm and taking a form. The light dimmed as it became an hourglass, runes covering the clear glass, carvings in the four wooden pillars pulsing with power. The sand inside was a mix of black and golden grains, however it did not flow, instead the mixed material was suspended perfectly in the center, the middle where the two met a complete mesh of the two colours whereas the outer was split, the dark grains in the lower part of the glass and the golden in the upper.

Standing properly upright, the hourglass hovered in front of the black jet as the orbs around him slowed, one of his metal servos still gently pulsing red as he straightened up, taking a breath out. He spoke to it in an ancient, lost tongue, his vocaliser low and almost impossible to hear. The hourglass started to spin, slowly picking up pace as he continued to speak in the old language, however the sand inside did not move and remained in its suspended animation. The golden sands stayed in the upper region regardless of what way the device holding it moved, the black grains staying in the bottom.

Eventually the hourglass stopped and the jet fell silent, wings twitching before he spoke clearly and sternly, the two words sounding commanding and strict as his visor focused on the object.

“Show me.”

The sands inside slowly twitched. The jet felt a feeling inside his frame, a tugging sensation in the energies that flowed through him like a river. He had experienced this feeling only once before and was not ready for the sudden agony that stabbed into him as the sands began to move. His visor suddenly lit up brightly as he fell to his knees, his intakes halted for a moment as the sands inside the hourglass tore from one another, the black grains immediately falling to the bottom of its glass bulb-like area as if made of lead, flattening as low as it could on the base like a thick oil. The golden sands slipped through into the darker area but hovered above the darkness, the black sand suddenly reaching out like tentacles, grasping and consuming some of the lighter grains into its void, the light dying as the bright coloured grains turned grey and blended in with the rest of them, leaving only a pinch of light left that managed to escape back through the small hole that kept the two pockets apart.

“N-no…”

Looking up weakly, the jet watched the hourglass slowly rotate onto its side. The black sand slid down against its containers glass, the majority in the two colours, bubbling like hot tar and constantly shifting as if a creature was moving within it. The golden sands rested on the other side, now dull and flickering, struggling to stay lit in the clear glass bulb.

I-I… I don’t understand… h-how has this happened… who has done this… i-it is as if time is being…

The jet pushed himself back onto his feet, reaching out and clutching the floating hourglass in his servos. He felt it slowly shrink as he held onto it, soon it was small enough to easily conceal in one hand. He perked when he felt something seemingly slither out of it, looking down as he heard a click, a glowing chain now around his wrists, binding him to the hourglass. The chain faded out, the hourglass turning back into an orb which flew up and faded into the darkness of the void. He sighed shakily, lifting one arm to his helm and rubbing it.

Something or someone has rewritten the timeline… and now I am bound to it until I can find a way to sort it back out…

The orbs slowly orbiting his black frame started to speed up, floating lower and lower until they surrounded his legs in a surge of light. He felt lightheaded as he started to fade out of the peaceful void, the pains of reality starting to sink back in as he travelled back into the mortal realm, not sure on what he was about to face.

I better see what the damage is...

This was written in regards to a dream I was told by :icong1-ratbat: about my OC Sky Shadow. He's... developed a lot since I last wrote anything on here about him.

But yeah, the dream was basically a lot of shit had changed, to the point where time had been completely rewritten. Syndrome had been taken and locked away so negative energy ruled, the energy shift had caused an unbalance and time itself had become unstable. Sky Shadow, being the keeper of balance, was going to set out to figure out what had happened and how he could fix things before too much damage was done.

But the deal was, Raven was going to draw it as a comic and I was going to write it, then we'd show one another. However, she kinda stopped and gave up with her comic so I never continued it. I might do one day, I dunno I have so many things I want to do, like finish Sparkling Days, rewrite Aussy Spazz, possibly write Another Normal Day instead of working on rewriting A Normal Day because that story is basically a train wreck.

Anyway, Raven wanted me to upload things on here again since she didn't tell me she couldn't actually read them on the Google Drive document >-> So I'm gonna be uploading random drabbles here and there. I should update this anyway.

Really nicely written. I like how each sentence flowed into the next and the detail is amazing! Geez haven't seen Sky Shadow in a very long time. Hope you do keep writing here it'll be nice to have things to read over the summer :3
